There has been a new controversy about the release date of GTA 6, featuring a highly regarded insider publishing a comprehensive set of dates, which allegedly outline the much-anticipated marketing campaign of Rockstar Games.

Having not released any official news by the studio since the launch of the first trailer, the report only increased the excitement and anxiety of fans who want to know when the release of Grand Theft Auto VI will come to an end. 

The speculations, which are yet to be proven, point to the fact that Rockstar may be silent so far at least until 2026, and players will have to wait even longer to see new footage, trailers and gameplay reveals regarding the next instalment of Grand Theft Auto. 

New GTA 6 Timeline Talk Generated by Infinity Gamer Report

The most recent topic of discussion is a post by Infinity Gamer, who can be viewed as a trustworthy source of leaks regarding the Rockstar projects by many members of the GTA community. In an article about X, the insider detailed what was reportedly a complete marketing roadmap of GTA 6 that would not officially start till May 2026.

As the report indicates, the suggested schedule is the first significant gap in the publicity of Rockstar since the first unveiling of the game. Nevertheless, both Rockstar Games and its parent company have not addressed the claims yet, which makes the information a strongly falsifiable rumour.

A series of supposed dates were given in the post by Infinity Gamer. The leaker asserted that full advertising of GTA 6 would start on 9 May 2026 and that the cover art would be revealed later on that same month on 30 May.

The report also indicated that a third trailer would come out on 14 June 2026. The most notable milestone, which was considered by fans, was gameplay, which was claimed to be divided into two reveals. The initial gameplay demonstration was scheduled on 15 September 2026, and id reported to take seven minutes and a second gameplay demonstration on 13 October 2026is purportedly nine minutes.

Some fans have been disturbed by the timeline since it puts meaningful new footage deep into 2026. The proposed schedule gives little time between the exposure of the game play and its release, with GTA 6 highly anticipated to be released in November that same year.
