NetEase Games and Naked Rain are releasing the most current gameplay information and a new 7-minute trailer of ANANTA, a free-to-play RPG, which takes place in a massive open-world realm. The much anticipated game invites the gamer to sink into the rich and colorful anime style world where the unpredictable is the new rule and fun is the ultimate drive. ANANTA is going to PC, PlayStation 5 and mobile.
ANANTA is an Urban Open World RPG with a high degree of freedom in which you can play as a number of characters. The city is your oyster to sink your teeth in and wander through it, where it is it’s crowded business quarters or its secluded back streets.
In the game, players will unite and fight against some mysteries threats that can exist in the shadows or live viciously and enjoy the night life of the city with the neon lights of the city. It is a matter of personal preference, calamity and the ordinary mixing up in the air.
The open-world game was created by Naked Rain and released by NetEase, and it gives the players the ability to play four officers of ADP task forces who have different abilities to keep the order in Nova City.
The Captain is in the limelight and he is fighting gangs, becoming undercover, hanging between skyscrapers with Venom like tendrils, and even having one-on-one fights with a giant mecha right out of Metal Gear Solid.
Similar to GTA 5, the trailer changes the point of view between the playable characters: a female cop (Richie) who walks around at night and chases suspects, a masked hitman (Seymour) hacks the system in Watch Dogs-style, and a sharpshooter with bunny ears (Taffy) covering his comrades in a tense hostage situation.
As you can expect, you will be able to jack cars, select among various types of weapons, including guns to tennis rackets, everything available on your weapon wheel, and as much debauchery as you can think, with an anime twist. Minigames when you are not smacking down criminals are also plenty (playing basketball, having fun at the beach, skydiving, etc.). It even has a Power Slap similar minigame.
This is not the first time that NetEase was in trouble over imitating other games but this time, amalgamating the best features of multiple open-world games and offering them with its own anime persona apparently proved successful.
The almost eight minutes long trailer presents a parody world of a tongue-in-cheek parody as in Saints Row, but with a strong touch of the anime style and humor. This would be as close to being an anime inspired GTA as possible before Grand Theft Auto 6 provided the controls stand the test.
Though yet to release, Android, iOD, PlayStation 5, and Windows PC versions are in development of ANANTA.
