Tom Holland, the popular actor known for playing Spider-Man, was recently injured on the set of his new movie “Spider-Man: Brand New Day.” The injury happened on Friday during filming in Glasgow, Scotland. He suffered a mild concussion, which led to a temporary halt in shooting.
The production team confirmed that there were no other injuries. As a precaution, Tom Holland will take a few days off from filming. The injury is not expected to cause a major delay in the movie’s release date, which is set for July 24, 2026.
Fand expressed concern and sent messages hoping for his quick recovery. The actor has faced tough physical challenges in the past while performing his own stunts. He once said during filming of “Uncharted” that he had to take a break due to tendinitis after multiple stunt scenes.
Before the injury, Tom shared his excitement about filming “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” on location in Scotland. This movie is his fourth standalone Spider-Man film. He said it felt refreshing to film outside of soundstages, unlike his last Spider-Man movie, which was mostly shot indoors due to the pandemic.
Tom Holland also revealed that he researched online fan reactions to his earlier Spider-Man work. He used that feedback to pitch ideas for this new movie to Marvel. He believes the film will offer a grounded story that fans wanted to see, making the creative process enjoyable yet stressful.
The new Spider-Man suit worn by Holland in the film pays homage to classic Marvel Comics designs. It brings back the familiar red and blue colors with raised webbing. The suit is reportedly valued at around $16.4 million, featuring a design reminiscent of previous Spider-Man actors’ costumes.
The cast for “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” includes returning stars Zendaya, Jacob Batalon and Mark Ruffalo. It also features new faces such as Liza Colon-Zayas, Tramell Tillman, and Sadie Sink. Jon Bernthal returns as the Punisher, and Michael Mando is back as the villain Scorpion.
Sony and Marvel Studios produce the film with director Destin Daniel Cretton at the helm. Filming began in early August 2025, and the team plans to resume shooting once Tom Holland recovers.
Despite the injury scare, fans can look forward to the movie’s summer 2026 release. Tom Holland’s dedication to his role and his efforts to connect with fans show his passion for bringing Spider-Man to life in new and exciting ways.
