Vince Zampella, a 55-year-old co-founder of Infinity Ward (Call of Duty) and Respawn Entertainment, was killed on Sunday in a one-car accident on Angeles Crest Highway. Zampella, who was caught in the act as the driver, died on the scene. In the meantime, the passenger was thrown off the car when it hit something and ultimately perished in the hospital.
According to MobyGames, Zampella has more than 55 credits on 33 titles since the early days as a producer working on NBA Jam Tournament Edition up to the present executive role as the launch of Battlefield 6 in October 2025.
Zampella has games such as Modern Warfare 2 that broke the sales records, and Respawn was the EA acquired at $415 million. Interviews reveal that Battlefield 6, under his EA leadership, reinvigorated the franchise with critical acclaim.
