Fans of the iconic spy have waited 14 years for a new James Bond video game. IO Interactive, creators of the Hitman series, unveiled 007 First Light in June 2025. The game drops on March 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
This title promises a fresh origin tale. Players meet a young James Bond at age 26. He is sharp but reckless. MI6 boss M calls him “a bullet without a target.” Bond learns to fight, buff and vanish into shadows. The story chases a rogue agent in stunning locations. Expect high-speed drives and cinematic missions.
The reveal came during Sony’s State of Play in September 2025. A deep dive showed gameplay footage. It blends stealth infiltration, combat and mystery-solving. Think Hitman-style action with Bond flair. Pre-orders upgrade to the Deluxe Edition for free. That pack includes 24-hour early access, four exclusive offers, a weapon skin and the Gleaming Pack.
Patrick Gibson voices and creates motion for Bond. Fans know him from Dexter: Original Sin and The OA. Classic characters return, too. Priyanga Burford plays M. Alastair Mackenzi,e is Q. Kiera Lester handles Miss Moneypenny. New faces include mentor John Greenway, played by Lennie James of Fear the Walking Dead. Noemie Nakai stars as Miss Roth.
Development faced hurdles. IO used Daniel Craig’s face in a Hitman map to win Bond rights. Queen Elizabeth II’s passing delayed work. Still, the team delivered thrilling previews. Bond arrives just before the Kill, echoing fan favourites.
Excitement builds online. One fan said, “I can nail infiltration and action.” Another cheered, “Bond returns after being underutilised.” The game marks the first Bond title since 2012’s 007 Legends flop. It ties into Amazon MGM Studios’ franchise push.
Timing adds buzz. Release beats GTA 6 by two months. The next Bond film rumours swirl for 2027 cinemas. That’s the longest gap since Sean Connery’s 1962 Dr No; Time to Die’s pandemic delay held the old record.
007 First Light reimagines the spy’s start, like Casino Royale. Bond earns his double-zero rank through grit. Drive iconic cars. Wield gadgets. Pursue foes who stay ahead. IO promises the youngest Bond ever.
Pre-order now for bonuses. Collectors eye a special edition. Reddit buzzes with hype. “Contract Killing for a million,” joked one user.
This game revives 007 gaming. Stealth fans and action lovers unite. March 27, 2026, shakes the world. Bond is back yonder, bolder, and ready to license to thrill.
